Naejangsan National Park Maple Ecology Park in Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province, is attractive for its wide grass square facing the blue sky. It is one of the famous places to enjoy beautiful autumn foliage in Korea and is adjacent to Naejangho Lake, so there are many things to see. From this September, couples can have a wedding here. A couple can solely use the place for a long time for only 1115,000 won.

From March next year, couples can also get married in the traditional courtyard of the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul. Guests can use the restaurant in the museum and talk a walk around the museum's garden before and after the ceremony.

The government held an economic ministers' meeting on June 26 and announced that 48 additional public facilities will be opened as "public wedding venues customized for young people." The idea is to help couples who have difficulty renting a wedding venue to have an affordable and personalized wedding ceremony.

In addition to the 91 existing venues, the new locations include five national facilities, such as the National Museum of Korea, the National Folk Museum, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, 10 outdoor spaces in national parks, such as Naejangsan, Deokyusan, Jirisan, and Seoraksan mountains, 12 facilities under the jurisdiction of local governments, such as Sejong Lake Park and Midongsan Arboretum in Cheongju, and 21 public training centers and auditoriums.

The capacity varies from 50 to 400 people depending on the venue. Rental fees range from free to a maximum of 560,000 won for each place in consideration of the facility area and equipment support.

Information and reservations for public wedding venues nationwide will be available on the website of “Gongyoo Nuri” (www.eshare.go.kr) from the first of next month. After inquiring about information, such as the rental fees, the number of people available for each facility, and the availability of receptions, people can make a reservation by selecting the desired location and rental date.

The government plans to open more than 200 public facilities for wedding ceremonies by the end of 2027 by continuously discovering spaces that young people want.

In addition, it will also work with local governments to provide information on relevant businesses by region so that couples do not have to search for wedding decorations and food and beverage providers separately.
