Regarding President Yoon Suk-yeol's first official response after the general election, Cho Kuk, the leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party, said on April 17, "It seems that the president does not realize that the root of all the problems is himself.” About the fact that his party took the first place in the vote for proportional representation in Sejong, he said, "The first sign of a lame duck is the exodus of public officials, and the exodus has begun."

Appearing on Kim Ou-joon's YouTube channel on the same day, Cho said, "It's so ridiculous. I was the president's chief of staff, and (the president's official statement) should have started and ended with an apology to the people, saying "I'm so sorry.” He added, “I think the president's aides did not speak forthright to him because when they say to him, ‘You’re the problem,’ then they will be fired.”

Regarding the presidential office's additional announcement that "President Yoon apologized to the public at a closed-door meeting," Cho said, "I think it's a lie." He added, “Since he did not apologize at an official event, it is highly likely that an aide suggested that ‘I will just say to reporters that you apologized to the people,’” criticizing, "Such a crappy apology and an apology to the aides is not an apology."

Cho also said, "I think there will be two or three more decisive incidents that will happen. Then the president will apologize to the people in a very disgraceful way.”

Regarding Han Dong-hoon, former interim leader of the ruling People's Power Party (PPP), he said, "He needs to be investigated. If the Han Dong-hoon Special Counsel Investigation Act is passed, some members of the PPP may join, or Yoon may even secretly order the party to agree with the passage of the bill as he becomes sullen.”

About the formation of a floor negotiation group, Cho said, "The will to form a negotiation group is firm, but it is not easy. The best thing is to do it before the opening of the 22nd National Assembly, but I think it can be done after the opening or even by the end of the year.”

The Rebuilding Korea Party secured 12 seats in the National Assembly in the general election and it needs 8 more seats to meet the 20-seat requirement for creating a floor negotiation group. Scenarios are being proposed, such as revising the National Assembly Act to allow it to associate with minority parties with similar lines and ideologies or easing the requirements for the formation of a negotiation group.
